BIOGRAPHIES
John C. Murphy, President
John C. Murphy is the President and founder of Murphy Acquisitions, Inc. John entered the aviation business in June, 1988 as a researcher with a major international aircraft sales organization based in the state of Texas. Through his performance and attrition within the company, John quickly became the Wholesale Purchasing Manager. During his tenure there his duties quickly evolved from cold calling owners looking for aircraft which were for sale, to making offers and negotiating purchases, to negotiating contracts, pre-purchase inspections and eventually sales. John earned his multi-instrument pilot rating, but later consciously gave up flying in order to concentrate on sales.
John Murphy founded Murphy Acquisitions in December 1999. Murphy Acquisitions, Inc. averages between 24 – 36 King Air transactions a year.
On a more personal note, John loves being married to his wife Lacy and they have been husband and wife since 1992. They are both blessed with a wonderful daughter, Ashton. Commenting on his family John noted “I take the jobs of being a husband and father very seriously. I have just as much desire to excel at those responsibilities as I do in business. If I can’t be faithful and devoted to my family, how can a client trust me to be honest and true to them?”
John’s personal interests include spending time with his wife Lacy, taking his daughter Ashton out on “date-night” at least one night every week, learning and teaching Christian Apologetics, following University of Texas Longhorn sports and maintaining the close personal friendships he has developed over the years.
Marty Buchanan, Sales
Marty Buchanan has been working in the aviation industry since 1979. Many of those years Marty served as an A&P technician, supervising pre-purchase inspections and sales internationally. In addition, he has served as a general and corporate aviation and airline maintenance control supervisor. Marty presently mans the position of aircraft salesman and offers his experienced technical assistance as needed.
Marty currently resides in Georgetown, Texas with his wife Rose and their 9 year old Labrador “Belle.” He enjoys watching The University of Texas Longhorns sports, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
Kelly Isbell, Administrative Assistant
Kelly has been involved in the aviation business for 14 years. She has been John’s administrative assistant for a majority of that time. She is proud of this company and enjoys all aspects of her job. She will be the friendly voice on the other end of the phone when you call.
Kelly is pleased to say she has been married to Bruce Isbell for over 30 years. Kelly and her husband have four amazing sons, all grown up and thriving, and one grandson so cute he makes your face sparkle when you look at him!
In her spare time she enjoys reading, doing crafts and sewing projects and spoiling her two outrageously lazy basset hounds.

Testimonials
“I would like to commend you on your professionalism and knowledge of the aircraft market. When we first started this journey I thought that it was going to be simple and that I would find what we were looking for in a sales booklet. Boy was I wrong! After calling many salesmen and learning how each of them had the most perfect King Air for sale in the world. I was weary about using a broker but I knew after having several conversations with you that I could not make this kind of investment with the little bit of knowledge that I had.
I also had this intuition that you were honest and not the type of person to tell me what you thought I wanted to hear just to close a deal. One thing is for sure. I bet there are very few people like yourself in the aircraft market.
Please feel free to use me as a reference anytime.”
